Meeting Program

A Vale Speakers' meetings contain 5 sections.  However agendas may vary.

Meetings may include a special theme such as holidays; or a special educational theme.  i.e.  Using Humour in Our Speeches; Or speaking contests.

The 5 sections are:

  • A brief introduction to the meeting's agenda.   This introduction explains any meeting theme.  Also the evenings' club roles.
  • Prepared Speeches.  Three club members deliver a prepared speech.  A prepared speech is a practical approach to use the techniques acquired through using the manuals and observing other members.
  • Impromptu speaking.  We develop the skill of ‘thinking on your feet’ in game form.
  • Evaluations.  In order to grow as speakers, feedback is critical. Often the harshest critics are speakers themselves.  Fellow members remind the speaker of their good point and suggestions which may enhance the speeches.
  • Ending of the meeting.  Awards, reminders, future meeting and upcoming events are announced.

Most important of all - BREAK TIME!!!

What is an evening without Tea - Coffee - Biscuits?!?!  Vale Speakers' Club does have its priorities!

We look forward to having you join us.
